Extensions for Windows Explorer » Print file and folder names You have come to realize that you cannot do a very simple thing, print what you see on your screen: the file names in a folder and its subfolders, with an easy, clear and stylish way. This function is missing from all Windows versions. The Extension Print folder's contents does exactly that, it prints what you see Windows Explorer easily and effectively. You can what you see on your screen, the names of the files, the icons in all its different sizes, and details like size, creation date, type etc. Print current folderAs you know, Windows Explorer can display the names of folders and files in three ways (details, icons, thumbnails) and in the two most recent versions of Windows with two more variations. The extension Print folder's contents prints the names of the files in the same way. It provides three options to select which corresponds to the way the files are displayed in Windows Explorer. LARGE ICONS
Prints the names of the folders and files as large icons with their names displayed below them. This type of print corresponds to the following Windows Explorer views: You can also add a border around each file's icon. LIST
Prints the names of the folders and files as a list with columns and the icons on the left and their names on the right. This option can be combined with the following Windows Explorer views:
Moreover, you can define the number of desired columns. DETAILS
Prints in columns the list of the files with their details. The columns printed are the ones you have arranged in Windows Explorer. This option can be combined with the following Windows Explorer views:
If you want each line can be underlined and the first column have a grey background, for increased readability. The width of the columns corresponds to the width of the columns inWindows Explorer, as well as the dimensions of the page on the printer. SORTThe sort order of the files is the one you have selected in Windows Explorer. Before printing select the sort method, i.e. by name, size, type, etc., so that the files will be print accordingly. The title of the pagesIn the print-out, at the top of each page, a title is printed. The title can be the path (directory) of the files and folders which are printed. It can also be a user defined title. If this option is enabled, then the path will be printed whereas if it is disabled the user defined title will be printed. Print CD-ROM coverDigital photography and digital music technology gives us access to a great number of pictures and music files (MP3) which we must archive in CD-ROM disks. Burning a CD is something that we all do. How do we know the contents of the CD-ROM though? Usually we use indelible ink to write on the disk or on the cover. The more advanced users print their own covers but they spend a lot of time in order to have an acceptable result. The same applies for professional uses (studios, companies, etc.) where back-ups of important data is a daily activity. By activating this option, whatever you have selected to be printed and the view you selected (large icons, list, details), will be arranged in two surfaces (two for each page) 12x12 cm, with marks for cutting. So if you cut these surfaces along the printed marks, you will have a cover for your disk with the files it contains. You put it in the plastic box and it is ready. You also have the option on the first page to print an image which is characteristic of the CD-ROM's content. Folder and subfolders
Apart from the above ways, printing Folder and subfolders allows you to print or save files not only on the current folder but in its subfolders as well. When printing, the files of a subfolder are printed further on the right, so you have a visual representation of the tree structure of folders and subfolders. On the same window a sample appears with the name of the files in the current folder from which you can make your selections. You can define the way the folders and files are sorted when printed. In order to select a column as a way of sorting, simply click on its title. By clicking on the title of the same column you change the sorting direction from ascending to descending and vice versa. Moreover, you can select a filter which will define which files will be included, i.e. *.DOC for Word file, etc.
